Objective: Establish the Neogene to present kinematic history of the Adria microplate through multidisciplinary research in the Dinaric orogen on its eastern margin. The proposed research will illuminate the nature of the processes through which lithosphere is fragmented and ultimately consumed or entrained during the closure of oceanic basins between converging continental plates.
